Wednesday updates
Good morning!
Here are notes and goals from yesterday's meeting.
Discussed, among other things:
-whole-site concepts
-topographical interventions
-back fence area
-reclamation of gravel garden area
-feasibility of water features
-safety considerations
Deliverables for Thursday:
1. Research on the following topics:
-Hyde Park zoning (residential, school)
-plants appropriate for the site (in terms of hardiness, durability, edibility, beauty...)
-precedents--other successful green schoolyards and gardens
-safety regulations
-health rules surrounding backyard chickens
-more in depth information on Montessori pedagogy/values
2. Concept sketches of entire site--we want to focus on the whole property at this stage, and develop a cohesive design vision
Sandra, Angeline and I plan to meet at 3pm tomorrow to look over our work before the 4pm class meeting.
